A current and accurate inventory is a necessary prerequisite to maximizing efficiency and realizing the greatest amount of savings.
The best way to ensure that an organization’s inventory is complete and accurate is through an audit of telecommunications assets. The products of the audit are 1) reports detailing errors in past billings from vendors, and 2) a complete and accurate inventory. Symphony SMS will validate and tune up the inventory information and conduct a historical audit in three phases:
Phase 1: Symphony SMS will provide an assessment of the accuracy of the current
Phase 2: If the assessment indicates a tune-up is required, Symphony SMS will document the scope of the work, a proposed timeline, and related costs. Such scope will include but not be limited to:
Verify data from current outsourcers, if any,
Collect data from current vendors, including customer service records (CSRs),
Collect data from telephone switches, if applicable,
Work with technical personnel to validate stand-alone files, spreadsheets, paper records, etc.,
Work with cost center managers to verify assets assigned to their cost centers, and
Work with the appropriate departments to eliminate unneeded, unused or wasted bandwidth.
Phase 3: Symphony SMS will analyze vendor invoices dating back 36 months and document the following instances:
Incorrect monthly recurring charges based on contract pricing and/or tariffs,
Incorrect charges for features and options,
Billing errors due to inaccurate connect/disconnect dates.
Based upon this analysis, Symphony SMS will work with the Client and vendor personnel to recover credits that resulted from historical over billing as agreed upon by Symphony SMS and client and provide cost avoidance going forward. SMS' US and APAC staff provide multi-lingual support for international projects.
